FAQ

Questions people ask before reaching out

Here's what most small business owners want to know before we get on a call. If your question isn't here, just ask.

Working with me

Do you just run everything through AI?

No. I use AI the way a good contractor uses power tools: it lets me build faster, and that keeps your costs down. I still plan the work and make the judgment calls myself, and nothing reaches you until I've reviewed it. Every site, report, and piece of copy is built for your business, and I stand behind all of it. You work with me, not a chatbot.

Do you just give advice, or do you build things too?

I build the system, because a strategy only helps once it ships. You get something that works, along with the code, configuration, and documentation behind it, instead of a slide deck.

I'm worried about depending on one person. What happens if you're unavailable?

Every project includes documentation and a 30-day support window. I build systems to run without me, so there's no proprietary lock-in and nothing that only I know how to maintain. If I'm unavailable, the system keeps running.

Do I need a technical background to work with you?

No. You bring the business goals and I handle the technical side. We talk in plain English, and the documentation I hand off is written for business owners rather than developers.

What happens if I don't like what you build?

You see progress along the way, not just a finished product at the end, so we catch problems early. If something isn't right, we fix it before the project wraps up.

Cost & timing

What does this typically cost?

Every project is scoped to what your business needs, so the price depends on the work. After our discovery call I send a fixed-price proposal, which means no hourly billing and no surprise invoice. Ongoing support is a flat monthly rate we agree on up front.

How long does a typical engagement take?

It depends on what we're building. A website usually takes 1 to 2 weeks, and most reporting or automation setups take 2 to 3. Your proposal includes a timeline for your specific project.

Is the call free?

Yes, the 30-minute discovery call is free. We talk about your business and see if it's worth taking further. The AI Audit is a separate, paid service, and we'd only get into it if it fits.

Do I need a contract or a long-term commitment?

Project work is scoped to what you need, with no ongoing commitment required once it's done. Marketing Partner work is month to month, and you can stop anytime.

Services & scope

I already have a website. Can you just fix what's not working instead of starting over?

Yes. A lot of my work is improving an existing site rather than rebuilding it from zero. On the first call, I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth fixing what's there or starting fresh.

Who owns the website, the reports, and everything else once it's built?

You do. Everything I build, the site, the code, the reports, the automations, belongs to your business. There's no lock-in that requires you to keep paying me to keep using what I built.

What tools do you use for reporting?

It depends on what your business already has and what makes sense for your budget. I typically connect your website, ad accounts, and customer list into one report instead of relying on a single platform's built-in dashboard.

What's included in an AI Audit?

A full look at your website, analytics, ad accounts, CRM, and email platform, plus a plain-English plan for which AI tools are worth using in your business and which aren't. It's a separate, paid engagement, not part of the free discovery call.

Getting started

Do I need to know what I want before I reach out?

No. Plenty of owners aren't sure yet. They just know something isn't working. Tell me what that is and I'll help you figure out the next step.

What if I'm still deciding and not ready to hire anyone?

That's normal, and it's fine. The first call is just a conversation about where your business stands today. If it's not the right time, I'll tell you that too.

Do you work with businesses anywhere?

Yes. Most of my work happens remotely over calls and screen shares, so location isn't a limiting factor.
